Celebrating 40 Years of Advocacy
Project Safe is honored to celebrate our 40th anniversary and want to thank all of the people who have walked hand in hand with us to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault for the past 40 years. What started out as one woman and a phone has now turned into a multi-county, multi-site nonprofit that serves upwards of 2,000 clients annually. We are fortunate to serve alongside a multitude of partners in the fight against domestic violence and sexual assault. We are consistently overwhelmed by the outpour of support from our community for our agency and the survivors we serve daily. Without your support, we couldn't do what we do. Our mission is to provide advocacy for Safety, Empowerment, Healing and Freedom from abuse. Our vision is to advocate for victims of abuse, to raise awareness of violence, empower survivors, and create a community that stands against domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence. We hope that in the next 40 years we continue to provide excellent advocacy services to support survivors in hopes of creating a stronger, more resilient community. On behalf of the board, our staff and our clients - thank you for 40 years.
WE SERVE VICTIMS OF

1
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over another person through fear and intimidation, often including the threat or use of violence. Domestic violence happens when one person believes they are entitled to maintain coercive control over their partner. This includes, but isn't limited to: intimate partner violence and dating violence.
2
SEXUAL ASSAULT
Sexual assault is legally defined as "any physical act of a sexual nature that is accomplished towards another person without their consent." Consent is defined as "positive cooperation, it must be freely and voluntarily given, and all participants must have knowledge and understanding of the act." This includes sexual assault and abuse against children.
